    Under the general direction of the Adult Day Health Coordinator, this position will assume responsibility for the safe transportation of Mercy Care Rome clients to and from their homes, medical appointments, field trips or special events. This position will assume responsibility for communicating with the Adult Day Health Coordinator about route efficiency and van maintenance.

    * Provides patient care and/or support activities appropriate to ages served; primarily adults ages 18-65 or geriatric patients' ages 65 and over. May also include care for infant age0-1 year, child ages 1-12 years or adolescent ages 13-17 years.

    Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance. A high school diploma or GED preferred. Must be certified in standard first aid and CPR, or be willing to participate in training to achieve certification. Must have drivers' training as designated by the State and Mercy Care.

    Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, have a good driving record and hold a valid Georgia driver's license. Must be able to prove insurability. Must be able to lift and transfer clients safely.

    Must be able to establish and maintain good relationships with clients, staff members, client families and visitors. Must be able to apply sound judgment in care and performance of the job and in the use of the company vehicle. Must be able to prioritize tasks concerning route and driving decisions. Experience and/or training in the field of gerontology a plus. CDL License-good driving record.
