• Community Outreach & Communications Manager

    Posted: 04/01/2021

Since 2003, the William S. Davies Homeless Shelter’s mission has been to provide shelter and compassionate care while working to address the root causes of homelessness in Rome, GA. We believe every person who walks through our doors has sacred worth, on a restorative journey, and should be met with a welcome community. We currently operate two homeless shelters: an 16-bed facility for men and a 16-24 bed facility for women and children. As a transitional shelter, all of our guests work with a case manager in a safe environment to develop an individualized plan to help them work toward housing and financial stability. The Davies Shelter also operates the Davies Farm Bus and South Meadows Farm, our farming program which employs shelter guests and others to grow and sell produce in food insecure neighborhoods throughout Rome. The goal of the farming program is to provide healthy and meaningful opportunities for work and recreation while also decreasing food insecurity for our guests and community members.
