    Job Description
    COMPANY INFORMATION
     
    VT Industries of Georgia, A major US manufacturer in the Home Building Industries, is seeking two (2) CNC Programmers on 2nd shift.  We manufacture wood products including fine laminate countertops.  VT uses highly automated processes for building kitchen and bath countertop.  Use shop floor managed principles and technique including team structure, suggestions, workplace organization and standard operating procedures to examine tops for correctness to order and process all paperwork to ensure a complete order and accurate inventory.

    POSITION SUMMARY
     
    We are looking to hire a skilled CNC Operator to operate and maintain our CNC equipment.  As a CNC Operator you will be responsible for reading and interpreting technical blueprints, inputting the design specifications, adjusting the machine cutting paths, and performing quality checks on the final product. You may also be required to perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
     
    To ensure success as a CNC Programmer, you should have extensive experience working in manufacturing, a keen eye for detail and the ability to work unsupervised.  Ultimately, a top-class CNC Programmer works quickly and efficiently, ensuring all products meet the specifications of the customer.
     
    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
     
    • Available for work 10 hours per day, Monday – Friday  with frequent mandatory overtime
    • Reading and interpreting technical blueprints and design models
    • Loading raw materials into the CNC machine
    • Inputting the product design into the computer modeling software, i.e.:
    • Woodwop
    • Alphacam
    • AutoCad
    • Choosing and loading the correct cutting tools for the job
    • Adjusting machine setting to the desired product specifications
    • Trouble shooting issues during the manufacturing process
    • Completing quality control tests during the manufacturing stage and on the final product
    • Cleaning and maintaining the machine
    • Training new staff on machine operation procedures
    • Understand the process flow and provide solutions for issues
    • Participate/contribute to other facility functions, such as safety, environmental and LEAN initiatives
    • Participate in daily production meeting
    • Keep work area clean and organized
    • Use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), ALL EMPLOYEES: Safety glasses, ear plugs  POSITION SPECIFIC: Safety glasses, ear plugs, and gloves
    • Observe all safety policies and procedures at all times
    • Work individually or with team members as assigned
    • Maintain a positive work environment
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
     
    POSITION REQUIREMENTS
    • High School diploma or GED
    • Previous work experience as a CNC Operator
    • Ability to read and interpret design blue prints
    • Extensive Experience with computer modeling software
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently and stick to a deadline
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
    • Ability to lift heavy objects
    • Ability to work overtime when required
