    Job Description
    • Set up machine for production run
    • Purge hot melt glue
    • Ensure Cove Stick Feeder is loaded with cove sticks (8’, 10’ and 12’)
    • Inspect cove sticks for quality before loading
    • Watch tops as they go through to make sure the right amount of glue is being applied
    • Adjust glue if needed.  Utilize the Cover Glue Gun SOP
    • Inspect cove for blisters, cracks, and/or misforming utilizing the mirror mounted on exit of machine
      • When running Home Centers check every 10 – 15 tops
      • When running Fab Tops check at every profile change
      • Alert Supervisor if any of the above checks are occurring
    • Ensure the Cove Stick Trimmer is trimming the cove sticks properly
      • When running Home Centers check every 10 – 15 tops
      • When running Fab Tops check at every profile change
    • Utilize Shutdown SOP to turn off the machine at the end of the shift
    • Complete 5s Checklist
    • Keep work area clean and organized
    • Use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), ALL EMPLOYEES: Safety glasses, ear plugs  POSITION SPECIFIC: Safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, orange safety vest
    • Observe all safety policies and procedures at all times
    • Work individually or with team members as assigned
    • Maintain a positive work environment
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Able to successfully pass pre-employment drug screen
    • Receive clearance from medical professional resulting from a post-offer physical
    • Receive satisfactory results on background verification (criminal, personal, and wo, 5s, production and labor efficiency
    • Hourly non-exempt position, compensation for overtime hours worked
    • Full-time and Permanent
    • Normal working days: Monday – Friday
    • 40 hours per week.  Overtime is required for this position
    • Benefits available 1st of the month following 30 days
    • 40 hour of vacation @ 90 day completion
    VT Industries of Georgia, A major US manufacturer in the Home Building Industries, is seeking A 1st Shift Machine Operator in Production.  We manufacture wood products including fine laminate countertops.  VT uses highly automated processes for building kitchen and bath countertop.  Use shop floor managed principles and technique including team structure, suggestions, workplace organization and standard operating procedures to examine tops for correctness to order and process all paperwork to ensure a complete order and accurate inventory.
