Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of full time Assistant Director of Human Resources to be located on the Floyd County Campus and may be required to travel to other campuses to meet operational requirements. This position will report to the Director of Human Resources. This position will assist the Director with the College’s human resources functions to include compliance with state and federal laws as it relates to employment, compensation, benefits, recruitment, employee relations, however, specifically with training and payroll functions. This is a supervisory role.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a closely related field from an accredited college or university *and* two (2) years of full-time work experience in human resources in major areas of responsibility. One (1) of the two (2) years must include having experience in organizational wide training.
Preferred Qualifications: Work experience in payroll functions. Experience in PeopleSoft HCM. Supervising employees in a human resources department. SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR Certifications. Proven leader, collaborator, and working in an organization with multiple locations. Human Resources work experience in an educational environment. Experience in ensuring compliance with the state and federal law as it pertains to employment. Experience in strategic planning for the organization. Involved in risk management with the organization. A broad knowledge of human resources practices including onboarding, talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration and compensation
Starting Salary: $55,000 annually. This is a full time twelve month position and is eligible for the State of Georgia Benefit package.
