Director of Tax Credits
This is a full-time position, is under the Direction of the Executive Director. The Director of Tax Credits is responsible for the economic and efficient administration of the tax credit properties associated with the Northwest Georgia Housing Authority. Employee must possess a thorough knowledge of all laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures governing the management of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) properties. Employee exercises supervision over a moderate size staff of administrative, maintenance, and clerical personnel. Work is performed under general supervision of the Executive Director with latitude for exercise of independent judgment and action in making decisions and interpreting policies and procedures. Work is reviewed through conferences, reports and evaluation of results obtained.
This position requires thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices of administration and fiscal and organizational management. The successful candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in accounting, finance, public administration, or related field. A minimum of five (5) years experience in financial management and planning, analysis, and budgeting of which two (2) years include managing and supervising subordinate staff and a minimum of two (2) years experience working on a tax credit property or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience to meet the required knowledge, skills and abilities are required. The director needs to have overseen a portfolio of at least 1000 affordable units. The candidate must have LIHTC Certification (HCCP, SHCM, eNAHP, PHM, FHC, etc.). Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and be able to be covered under the Authority’s fidelity bond.
