• ASSISTANT SPORTS MANAGER

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The purpose of this position is to assist in the planning, administration and directing of athletic and team sports programs for the Rome Floyd Parks and Recreation Department.
     
     
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Assists in supervising, directing, and evaluating assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems.
    • Makes recommendations for rule changes or program expansion.
    • Assists in planning, administering, and directing athletic programs including leagues, clinics, classes, programs, special events and facilities use; establishes and distributes schedules, including dates, times and locations of practices, games, clinics, classes and events.
    •Administers policies with respect to scheduling, safety, and insurance; monitors and evaluates program outcomes; maintains related documentation.
     Trains officials in sports areas. 
    • Assists with volunteer recruitment in all sports areas.
     
     
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    Bachelor's degree in Recreation or closely related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in parks and recreation management or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skill, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
