VISITING POSITION IN FINANCE; RANK OPEN
ABOUT BERRY COLLEGE:
Located on more than 27,000 acres in northwest Georgia in a setting of great natural beauty, Berry College has an enrollment of about 2,200 undergraduate and graduate students. The college is located in Rome, Georgia, 75 miles northwest of Atlanta and 75 miles south of Chattanooga, Tennessee. As a comprehensive liberal-arts college with a distinctive mission and purpose, Berry unites a challenging academic program with practical work experience in a context that nurtures spiritual and moral growth, including significant service to others.
We seek faculty who are committed to excellence as teachers-scholars-mentors and staff who are also committed to serving as mentors and supervisors for students who work on campus. Although not required, more than 90 percent of our students participate in our premier student work program. Employee benefits are competitive.
Berry College's AACSB-accredited Campbell School of Business invites applications for a visiting Finance faculty member for the Spring 2022 semester. The successful candidate should be prepared to teach courses in principles, investments, and an upper-level major elective such as derivatives.
The finance major is the fastest growing program in the Campbell School. Our students are successful in the job market, including many alumni with prominent positions in the wealth management and banking industries. Our finance program is a CFA affiliate school and has a very successful student run investment group (Berry Investment Group - BIG) that is managing a $500,000 portfolio.
The candidate should demonstrate the commitment and potential for teaching excellence. In addition, the successful candidate will share our school's commitment to student engagement inside and outside of the classroom and our interest in promoting opportunities for students from under-represented groups.
Berry's educational approach deliberately unites challenging academic programs with practical work experience in a residential campus community that encourages faith and emphasizes caring for the needs of others above self. This commitment to an "education of the head, heart, and hands" remains as relevant today as when our founder instilled this ethic more than a century ago.
Berry College is committed to increasing the diversity of our faculty, staff, and student body. We welcome applications from all and strongly encourage women and people of color to apply for this position.
A Ph.D. in Finance is preferred, but applicants with degrees in accounting or economics and teaching experience in finance will also be considered.
