Assistant Professor of Education
Position Status: Full-time, tenure-track, 10-month contract, start date August 1, 2021
Reports to: Dean of the School of Education
Qualifications:
Terminal degree in education (PhD or EdD)
Demonstrated excellence in teaching, with preference given to candidates with experience teaching in both higher education and K-12 contexts.
Classification: Full-Time Faculty – Exempt
Job Summary:
Full-time, tenure-track position beginning in August 2021. Primary responsibilities include:
Teach graduate and undergraduate education courses.
Align curriculum with state and federal regulations.
Collaborate with other academic departments as needed.
Supervise teacher candidates during field experience &/or clinical practice.
Recruit high quality students to the program.
Academic advising for education majors.
Develop/Sustain partnerships with area schools.
Maintain an active professional/scholarly profile.
Participate in university, community, and church service.
Other responsibilities assigned by the dean.
The ideal candidate will have an established record of success in growing a program, experience teaching at both the K-12 and collegiate levels, familiarity with the Georgia Professional Standards Commission standards for multiple teaching fields, and a commitment to the teaching profession, recruitment, and service.
