Adult Education Distance Education Part Time Instructor
Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Adult Education Distance Education Part Time Instructor. This position will work with all Campuses. The person in this position will teach both synchronous and asynchronous online courses which might include the content areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Other responsibilities include evaluating and recording student progress in attaining goals and helping students transition to college and/or a career. The successful candidate will develop lesson plans based on the College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS) and deliver instruction in Adult Basic Education (ABE) and preparation for the High School Equivalency credential. He or she will maintain a secure classroom environment, participate in professional development activities, and prepare required documentation and reports.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills along with excellent computer skills. Ability to integrate technology in the classroom and deliver instruction utilizing an online learning management system.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Prior middle, secondary, or post-secondary classroom management and teaching experience in subject area (English, Math, Science, or Social Studies). Experience teaching basic academic skills to adult learners in a distance education multi-level classroom. Experience in administering standardized tests. Teaching certification is a plus.
Salary Range: $19.38 per hour
Schedule: Position requires six (16) instructional hours per week plus three (3) hours of planning time for a total of nineteen (19) hours per week. Work schedule will be Monday through Thursday and will include evening classes. Position and hours based on funding and enrollment.
