    Position: Academic Programming Specialist, Full-Time
     
    Position Summary:  The Academic Programming Specialist is primarily responsible for the development, maintenance and accuracy of degree program requirement and planning functions within Jenzabar student information system (Advising Trees).
     
    Qualifications: Excellent organizational, analytical, and computer information system skills, demonstrated ability to work independently on multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy, excellent verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment in applying complex guidelines and regulations, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the campus community. Experience in a University Registrar’s Office or similar educational administrative setting. Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. Experience with the Jenzabar EX/One student information system is preferred.
     
    Responsibilities include:

    • Collaborate with Academic Deans, Department Chairs, Office of Information Technology and others to digitize degree program requirements and progress tracking
    • Develop and maintain Advising Trees in Jenzabar
    • Serve as the subject matter expert on Advising Trees for the university
    • Develop and provide advising and degree progress tracking training for end-users
    • Ensure records accuracy based on office and academic policies
    • Create and maintain procedures for processing degree requirement updates, course substitutions, and other related items
    • Ensure accuracy of advising data by building and maintaining electronic degree audits within the Jenzabar student information system
    • Participate in all advisor training activities to stay abreast of practices in advising
    • Provide data to other areas as requested after consultation with the Registrar
    • Assist with commencement preparation and ceremony activities
    • Assist with academic catalog reviewing, editing, and publishing
    • Assist with class schedule and classroom scheduling in Jenzabar
    • Assist with performing degree audits
    • Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff
    • Serve as a backup as needed to ensure smooth office operations
    • Other duties as assigned
