Guest Speaker: David Cross, Rome Braves 

David Cross's Bio:

David Cross enters his twenty-third year with the Atlanta Braves organization and second as Vice-President and General Manager of the Rome Braves in 2021. Prior to coming to Rome he spent the previous twenty seasons as the General Manager of the former Braves Advance Rookie Affiliate, Danville Braves (2000-19). He started with the Braves organization in 1998 in the ticket department with the Richmond Braves prior to leaving for one season to work with the Winston-Salem Warthogs (White Sox High-A affiliate) during the 1999 season.

During his tenure in Danville, he was named Appalachian League Executive of the Year twice (2003, 2008) and won the League's Promotional Award of Excellence twice (2004, 2006). Most recently, Cross led the D-Braves to 2017 Appalachian League Organization of the Year honors. He has served on the boards of nonprofits including Habitat for Humanity, Boys and Girls Club, Bright Leaf Brew Fest, Danville Tourism, and is a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Danville.

Prior to working in baseball Cross spent several years working in the banking and insurance industry with Signet Bank and New York Life Insurance Company. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Randolph-Macon College where he spent three years on the football team
