  • Rome Floyd Chamber Expo to be held virtually and not in person

The Rome Floyd Chamber announced today its plans for the Virtual Expo scheduled to debut November 5, 2020.  Scott Preston, Chairman, Rome Floyd Chamber, Synovus, also announced that the in-person Expo event scheduled at the Forum downtown will not take place on November 5, 2020 due to the current increase in COVID numbers and will be postponed.  “After discussions with Dr. Gary Voccio from the Department of Public Health and other healthcare officials, it became evident that the right thing to do for now is to not meet in person.”

The Rome Floyd Chamber of Commerce planned the Virtual EXPO for this year as an option to have the event online and offer it to a broader audience.  “This is an opportunity for the Chamber to offer the best of innovation and technology as it is partnering with Braden Keith at Romega Digital to have an online state-of-the-art experience,” said Scott Wheeler, 2020 EXPO Chairman for the Rome Floyd Chamber, The Competitive Edge.

The annual Business Expo kicks off the holiday shopping season as the Chamber seeks to raise awareness about the importance of shopping in Rome and Floyd County.  “The purchases that are made within the community help sustain jobs, and a portion of every dollar spent stays in the community,” Added Jeanne Krueger, President of the Rome Floyd Chamber.  Krueger went on to say, “this helps our businesses, schools, and our community.”
