“I am always excited to see existing manufacturers expanding and adding more jobs in our community,” said Rome Mayor Evie McNiece. “This is a great way to end 2013.”
Mohawk Industries is one of the world’s largest floor covering manufacturers and distributors and is a leading producer of yarn, ceramic tile, area rugs and bath mats. “Mohawk’s expansion continues to show the importance of our existing industry,” said Floyd County Commission Chairman Irwin Bagwell. “This announcement of keeping jobs in our community is always welcomed and I am glad that Mohawk has found Rome and Floyd County a great place to continue to do business.”
Founded in the Mohawk River Valley in upstate New York in 1878, Mohawk Industries is headquartered in Calhoun, Georgia.
