SYKES ENTERPRISES, INCORPORATED (SYKES) IS OPENING A NEW CUSTOMER CONTAC?T CENTER

​Rome, GA – The Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce, the City of Rome and Floyd County are pleased to announce that Sykes Enterprises, Incorporated (SYKES) is opening a new customer contact center in Northwest Georgia. SYKES Rome will move into the Berry Corporate Center located at 25 Legacy Drive bringing more jobs to the Rome area.
 
“We’d like to welcome SYKES to Georgia,” said GDEcD Commissioner Chris Carr. “We are excited about their decision to locate in Rome where they will have access to a highly-skilled workforce to support their growing business. We look forward to working with our economic development partners in Rome to support the company as they establish a presence in Georgia.”
 
SYKES is a global leader in providing comprehensive customer contact management solutions and services in the business process outsourcing (BPO) arena. They provide an array of sophisticated customer contact management solutions to Global 2000 companies around the world, primarily in the telecommunications, financial services, technology, healthcare and transportation and leisure industries.

Headquartered in Tampa, Florida, with more than 54,000 employees worldwide, including 7,500 at-home customer care professionals, SYKES specializes in flexible, high-quality outsourced customer support solutions with an emphasis on inbound customer calls and technical support.  These services are delivered through multiple communication channels including phone, e-mail, social media, text messaging and chat. SYKES’ center in Rome will emphasize inbound customer care and technical support.
 
“The Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce has been working this project for a while to bring this respectable company to Rome and Floyd County,” said Larry Maxey, Chairman of the Floyd County Commission.

From sponsoring local health programs and donating to local domestic violence awareness programs, to establishing an employee relief fund for their own employees recovering from catastrophic life events, SYKES understands the importance of supporting the issues and organizations that are important to the communities where their people work and live.

Jimmy Byars, the CEO/Broker of Hardy Realty & Development Company worked closely with the Chamber in recruiting SYKES to the community and brokered the deal.  Sam Pruitt with Site Selection Group was the site selection consultant.
 
SYKES will host a job fair on Wednesday, August 17, from 9 am to 3 pm at the Forum Civic Center at 301 Tribune Street in Rome. Candidates are encouraged to apply online beforehand (sykes.com/rome) and then come down during the day of for on-the-spot interviews and offers to those who are most qualified.
