    Job Description
    Direct and manage department operations with overall responsibility for:  Department production, lean manufacturing, operational excellence, materials management, and quality and personnel management 
    • Act in compliance with the companies Safety Plans including any applicable reporting and paperwork
    • Notify appropriate personnel of any situation or condition that may contribute to product or system conformity, or employee safety
    • Comply with all HR polices and procedures and enforce as required
    • Achieve or exceed production objectives
    • Drive lean manufacturing initiative and operational excellence
    • Manage manufacturing schedules based on sales requirements and department capacity to maximize machine and labor utilization
    • Provide high levels of integrity, enthusiasm, stability, resilience, and tenacity to promote department growth
    • Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses
    • Incorporate shop floor organization and department cleanliness
    • Provide direction, development and leadership to production employees
    • Confer with other departments to ensure coordination of purchasing, production and shipping
    • Assist in the selection and training of production staff
    • Conduct employee performance reviews and disciplinary action for production employees
    • Attend scheduled training and meetings as assigned
    • Lead shift start up meetings and GEMBA walks
    • Other duties as assigned by Manager
    • One (1) to Two (2) years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment or  three (3) to five (5) years of team lead experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Lamination counter top fabrication/installation excperience
    • Strong leadership skills
    • Excellent people skills
    • Good planning, organizational skills, and problem solving capabilities
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong team building capabilities
    • Demonstrated abilities in MS Office Suite and other windows based programs
    • Good judgment and decision making skills
    • Ability to learn and comprehend complete manufacturing process
    • 2 - 3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Bachelor’s degree in related field
    • Strong abilities in routine manufacturing concepts such as safety, 5s, production and labor efficiency
    • Experience in laminate countertop manufacturing
    • Experience in LEAN manufacturing, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
