    Job Description
    Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Youth Services Instructor I at the Floyd County Campus.  This position assists individuals who are 16 to 24 years old and who have withdrawn from school in preparing for the GED® Test and employment.  The qualified applicant will serve as lead teacher and will be responsible for developing training resources and teaching basic academic skills in the areas of mathematics, science, social studies, and language arts.  The successful applicant will work with existing staff to develop, organize, and deliver instruction leading to a GED® credential.  Qualified applicants must also help students with career planning and work readiness activities that lead to employment.  This position is full-time, 40 hours per week.  Staff hours are Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.  Salary range is $37,000 – $39,000.
    Required Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in education or related areas.  Excellent organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills
    Preferred Qualifications:  Experience teaching GED Prep (reading, writing, math, social studies, and science) to undereducated, at-risk, and multi-cultural adult or high school populations.
