    The Department:
    The Ledbetter College of Business offers Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) degrees in the following: Accounting, General Business, Management, Marketing, Sport Management and (Computer Information Systems Fall 2019). Additionally, we offer Master’s Degrees in Business Administration, Management, and Master of Accountancy. The department chair of Business Administration will oversee all BBA Degrees along with Graduate Offerings. The Business Administration Department maintains one of the largest programs on campus.
    Job Summary:
    The Shorter University Ledbetter College of Business Department of Business Administration invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position beginning August 2019 at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level. The successful candidate should have broad credentials to cover a multitude of disciplines housed within the Business Administration department. In the chair’s role, this position will teach 9 credits per semester (3 courses per).
    This candidate will also serve as the Business Administration Chair over the aforementioned undergraduate and graduate programs. Duties include but not limited to the following: Curriculum development, assessment, oversight of degree programs, scheduling of courses, internship placement/collaboration, advising, and ability to grow/expand programs.
    The successful candidate will introduce a vision for leading the department and promoting its continued growth and success; a distinguished record of scholarship; a commitment to excellence in instruction; and the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with faculty, professional staff, and the administration. The chair will be committed to advancing diversity and inclusion, and be able to advocate effectively for the needs and interests of the department, foster a climate of collaboration within the department and across programs.
    Required Qualifications/Experience:
    -          An earned doctoral degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Management or Marketing by the time of appointment is required.
    -          A solid understanding of the Shorter University mission and acceptance of the Personal Lifestyle Statement found on our website.
    -          Experience working as a Department Chair or administrative role.
    -          Experience teaching in the traditional classroom and online delivery system.
    -          Enthusiastic Leader who can bring energy to the team, and serve as a mentor for the students.
    -          Community involvement: This individual will be expected to connect into Rome and surrounding areas with the ability to expand partnerships and relationships.
    -          A mind for growth and expansion.
