The ninth annual Cast Off Against Cancer celebration and daisy drop is scheduled for Sunday, May 19 from 2 – 4 p.m. at Barron Stadium. The event marks the conclusion of a communitywide fundraising effort on behalf of Northwest Georgia's nonprofit Cancer Navigators, Inc.
Cast Off Against Cancer provides individuals an opportunity to create teams to have fun and raise funds that make a huge difference in Cancer Navigators’ ability to meet an ever-increasing need for supporting ?nancial, emotional and physical needs of cancer patients. A variety of awards and trophies, from Most Money Raised to Team Spirit, will be presented to teams. One-hundred percent of all event proceeds remain in our community to help provide front-line services to cancer patients.
The most special part of this annual celebration is certainly the walk and daisy drop which will occur at 3 p.m. on May 19. It gives loved ones an opportunity to honor those that have fought or are fighting cancer, among a community of people who understand.
