Summit Insurance Group was formed in July 2008 by Leah Farster and Greg Pryor. The agency was originally Pruett & Associates Insurance founded in 1981 by Cecil Pruett. In 2008, after working many years with the agency, Farster and Pryor purchased the business and changed its name to Summit.

Summit Insurance Group provides employee benefits, individual and family health insurance along with life, disability and retirement plans. Available services also include COBRA, HIPPA and Section 125 administration. “We are a full-service, multi-line insurance agency,” states Lyn Ingram, Summit’s Benefits Consultant. “The advantage our clients have is that we can provide all of their insurance policies in one place. We will shop several insurance companies for their best rates and coverage.” Summit also provides business, auto, home, renters, boat and motorcycle insurance. The group also provides online enrollment services, claims, billing assistance and human resources.

At Summit Insurance Group, an emphasis on outstanding customer service drives daily operations. “This is a very competitive market and the service we offer our clients is the most important thing,” explains Ingram. “It can be a simple question or complicated issue and we will do the leg work to get questions answered.”

As an active member of the Chamber, Summit Insurance Group utilizes its services for advertising, networking and to support community enhancement. Ingram elaborates, “Insurance, whether you’re talking about employee benefits, commercial insurance or auto and home, is all about people. We use our membership with the Chamber to help build relationships and meet customer’s needs.” Ingram has been involved with the Chamber for five years and serves on the Education committee, EXPO committee and also as an Ambassador. “It’s an invaluable resource to help grow our business,” she states. “The most valuable benefit of membership has been the personal relationships I have developed.”
